Women's Summer BBQ - Sisterhood

CBF Women - Summer BBQ invitation

Another great time! Below a sister shares her experience (in Dutch):

  • "Mij was gevraagd om iets weer te geven van onze fantastische vrouwenavond op vrijdag 23 juli 2010. Dit doe ik met veel plezier omdat ik altijd denk aan een leerzame maar ook een vrolijk avond die nog heel lang na werkt zodat ik mij zeer verheug op de volgende vrouwen avond. Meestal begint het met een prachtige uitnodigingskaart. Deze keer stond er vakantie slippers op. Bij aankomst waren de mannen al bezig met de barbeque. Daarna weren wij uitbundig begroet en kregen wij onze namen opgespeld en binnen waren alle tafels prachtig gedekt. De vrouwen die nieuw waren kregen een mooi presentje. Er werd met elkaar kennis gemaakt op een leuk speelse manier. Er werd gezongen, gebeden, gedanst en getuigenissen uit uitgewisseld en werden wij ondertussen verwend met een heerlijk barbecue. Alles werd gesproken in het Nederlands en Engels. Ons begin lied was "We are Family" en dat voelde ook zo aan. Kortom: Het was weer fantastisch!"

Another sister adds:

  • On 23 July it was finally time: the last womens evening of the 2009-2010 season. The evening was very special becasue aside form our theme (sisterhood) we also were going to have a BBQ! We found some men/brothers preparing the meat and also helping with dishes afterward. It was thus an evening for us as women to truly enjoy--the food and also eachother's company! To get to know eachother better we were asked to take something out of our handbags, something important to us and we had to share why. In this way we got a little impression of the person sitting next to us at the table. Between the delicious food and "gezellige" atmosphere, the time quickly disappeared. This meant that Carmen started late in the evening with our theme. She shared about the trust of Marie Magdelene in the Lord Jesus as an example for us women. A real eye opener. After we closed the evening in prayer, we sang again "We are Family" and went home so happy, filled-up, and looking forward to the new season. I had the feeling that we are really sisters and that encouraged me much!!!!!

 

CBF Women - Valuable invitation

Dear Women,

It has been some time, but on Friday 7 May we will have our first meeting in this new year! Mother's day is that Sunday, so its really a special time to come together as women! The theme for this evening is "Valuable" - do you know what you are worth as a woman created by the One True Living God? Do you know how precious you are in His sight?...Be sure the Lord has something special for each and every one of us!

Unity by Grace

Ladies Retreat

The women had an opportunity to meet and get to know the Lord better together at the Ladies Retreat, Sept. 18-20 in Westelbeers. Below is the update:

We were so blessed this ladies retreat! The Lord really prepared an amazing time for each woman who attended—His joy, His love and His unity were so tangible. And we were so overwhelmed by His amazing grace…

Unity by Grace

Here is a snapshot of the weekend from Sister Loes:

  • On Friday evening Esther explained the biblical and worldly definition of unity, as the title of the weekend was Unity by Grace.
  • On Saturday morning after a zumba/gymnastic warming up by Jasmine and Dianne, guestspeaker Sister Kelly from the Maranatha church was invited and she led us through some biblescriptures and we were really touched by her speech. Afterwards the Lord provided us with beautiful scriptures and reflections during our prayer walk “to the river.” We had free time to meet and greet and walk and talk in the beautiful environment of the Spreeuwel. In the evening we washed the feet of each other, massaged them and made a collage of the printed feet, as we were inspired by scriptures and songs. After the presentation there was free time to chat, relax, dance and eat.
  • We had a nice Sunday service, breaking bread in unity. Salomé explained how the Open Doors organization works and we were shocked by the large number of countries where people are being persecuted for their Christianity. We had a wonderful time walking with the Lord and inspired by His word.
  • I thank the Lord that in such a short time He allowed the organization to give us women (and a few little men) His provision, according to His will.
Unity by Grace

Another sister shared:

  • Het was zo'n heerlijk weekend, de fijnste womens retrait die ik heb meegemaakt. Dat kwam door de rust die voelbaar was op alle mogelijke manieren. Fijn schedule, fijne gastspreker Sister Kelly die ons hart raakte met haar woorden, fijne sfeer merkbaar voor alle mensen, fijne omgeving om in te zijn, zo midden in de natuur. Maar het hoogtepunt was voor mij de prayer walk op zaterdag, waar je in STILTE kon rondlopen om alle onderwerpen die op de bomen geprikt waren te lezen, erover te bidden, tot je door te laten dringen (o.a. give, forgive...). Ik ben wel eerder weggegaan, zondag om 11 uur, omdat voor mij de tijd te lang was tot 3 uur 's middags. Nu kon ik thuis rusten en genieten van een wondermooi weekend. Het heeft mij vervuld en geïnspireerd en ik dank de Vader en jullie allemaal ervoor.

We thank God for the opportunity we had to come together like this, and we look forward to what He will do next! Sisters, stay tuned!!
